On this guided hike in Derrybawn, Co. Wicklow, you will learn how to get our safely on the trails and hear stories about the wonderful animals and plants that live in Ireland.

This hike is designed for beginners who want to get into hiking, those wishing to be more independent in Ireland's hills and mountains, or anyone curious about nature and landscape in Ireland's upland and lowland trails.

We will cover: planning a hike, appropriate gear, and safety on the hills, as well as the upland nature and environmental considerations when hiking.

Guided by Anthea (Nature Tales & Trails), geologist, writer and mountain leader, and Kamila (Nature to Go), botanist, forest bathing guide and lowland leader, this is a hike for anyone wishing to be more independent in the hills, and to learn about Ireland's nature and landscape along the way. 

No hiking experience necessary.

What to Expect:

🌳 Learn hiking skills, including safety, planning, gear, weather, and Leave No Trace.

⛰️ Hear landscape stories about how the Wicklow hills formed over millions of years.

🌿 Learn about widlflowers, trees, and upland landscapes and habitats.
